Chemically modified Taq polymerase
Chemically modified Taq polymerase
Hot start PCR is a technique used to minimize non-specific amplification by preventing any trace of Taq polymerase activity during PCR setup, which helps improve the specificity, sensitivity, and yield of PCR reactions.
geca™ H-Taq Polymerase, specialized for Hot Start PCR, is a chemically modified form of recombinant Taq polymerase that becomes activated upon heat treatment. The activated enzyme maintains the same functional activities as unmodified Taq polymerase; 5’→3’ polymerase activity, 5’→3’ exonuclease activity, and lack of 3'→5' exonuclease activity.
